Welcome to the 2010 show season!  This year we have come to the conclusion that the show needs to be spread out over three days.  Our first day will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, August 27th.  This day will consist of all the driving classes we are offering.  The other big change to our class list is the re-ordering of our halter classes.  In the past, we had all of the stallions show, then colt, followed by fillies and finally the mares.  This year, we will have all of one section, regardless of sex or age, showing before moving on to the next section.

The class list, showbill and entry form for the 2010 show are now available.  The link at the bottom of this page will bring up a .pdf file of each item.  If you have trouble accessing these files, let Jen Sommer know.  You can reach Jen at the following address: jens @ heartlandwelsh.org (but remember to remove the spaces).

The change of date in 2009 worked well for us.  We were excited to meet some new friends and see the return of some old ones, too.  This year was a very successful one for our club as we launched ourselves into the 21st century with the addition of our new show software.  Designed and created by Jen and Jeff Sommer, the program kept the show running smooth.  A few minor bugs were detected, but that just gave us something to look forward to in 2010.

In 2008 our show felt the crunch of the economic crisis.  The soaring fuel prices kept many people away who appologized for their absence.  Although we did get the minimum number of ponies to attend our show for Gold sanctioning with the WPCSA, it was only through the assistance of selfless individuals who brought "just one more".  For 2009, we will be changing our date to try and get more entries at our show.

In 2007, we saw our highest number of entries yet.  We had new competitors from Texas and Mississippi, as well as the folks from Iowa and New Jersy that came back again.  The big change to our show this year was the new standards the club made in order to make the hunter course look lovely.  We plan to make another addition to the hunter course in 2008 in the form of brush boxes and flower boxes.

In 2006, we had some folks show with us that traveled from Iowa, New Jersey and even Florida.  It seems that the word is getting out that we are putting a really great show in the mid-west.  We are looking forward to seeing all of the folks back this year that we had the honor of meeting last year and would love to meet some new folks too.

The Heartland Welsh Show is in Rochester, IN which is about 60 miles north of Indianapolis.  Our showcase is the Fulton County Equestrian Center, a relatively new facility which offers many amenities.  Besides the air-conditioned clubhouse, we also love the second story announcer's booth which over looks two rings and the delightful catering by the Fulton County 4-H club.

Feel free to follow the links below to see our class list, show bill and entry form.  As always, you may print these forms out to make your entries or you can request paper forms from Jen Sommer: jens @ heartlandwelsh.org (but remember to remove the spaces).
